High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) is a novel treatment that is used to revitalize the face and body, lift, and tighten the skin. This technology involves the use of high-energy ultrasound waves that are precisely focused on targeted areas of tissue without causing harm to surrounding tissue.

The full effect of the treatment generally takes around 12-weeks to kick in, and you will continue to see improvements in facial contouring and skin tightening for up to 6 months after the treatment.

The principle of this treatment is to induce a controlled cellular damage by delivering a focused heat energy at ‘maximum focusing point’ creating a selective ‘thermal coagulative zone’ at different skin depths (1.5mm, 3mm, 4.5mm, 8mm ) without injury to the epidermis and adjacent tissues. These thermal coagulation zones react to high energy of over 60ºC, which triggers a wound healing response in the skin that results in the formation of new collagen fibres, providing a tighter skin and a noticeable improvement in facial contouring.
What makes this technology so effective is that it reaches the SMAS layer (superficial musculoaponeurotic system), composed of the platysma muscle, parotid fascia and fibromuscular layer covering the cheek. This muscular system is manipulated during a facial cosmetic surgery, and now can also be treated non-surgically by HIFU technology, making a face lifting safer, affordable and with no downtime.
Today, HIFU Skin Tightening offers a safe non-surgical treatment solution that lifts, tightens, and firms the skin for people who have experienced a loss of skin elasticity; and who are predominately concerned with loose skin.
Before starting the treatment, we will prepare the skin to optimise the results, then a cooling gel is applied on the area to be treated, the HIFU hand piece will then be placed on area by area, previously marked.
